The country's largest IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced salary hikes for nearly 80% of its staff members.

- ENS ECONOMIC BUREAU @ New Delhi

The news of salary hike comes about 10 days after TCS said that it will lay off more than 12,000 employees in the course of this year.

The fresh increment will mainly cover the IT giant's junior and mid-level employees. In an email written to staff on Wednesday, TCS CHRO Milind Lakkad and CHRO Designate K Sudeep stated that the salary adjustments would take effect from September 1.
