AIADMK Cadres Arrested for Protest Over Poor Condition of NH Stretch

|June 13, 2025
The councillors of the Mettupalayam Municipality were among a group of AIADMK cadres arrested on Thursday for their attempt to plant coconut saplings in Mettupalayam Junction on the Mettupalayam-Annur stretch of the national highway as part of a protest.
Alleging that the municipality failed to lay proper roads and stop overflow of drainage water, the AIADMK cadres arrived at the venue with saplings on Thursday morning and started a rally for planting the same.
Citing law and order issues, the police soon arrested the protesters as they marched to plant saplings on the busy NH stretch.
