The Centre on Tuesday issued a notification introducing new reservation and domicile policy for the Union Territory of Ladakh, reserving 85% jobs for the locals and one-third of the total number of seats in the Autonomous Hill Development Councils of the UT for women.

The notification, issued by the Union Ministry of Law & Justice, follows several rounds of talks between representatives from Ladakh and a high-power committee of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs led by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai.
