AI plane veers off runway while landing amid heavy rain at Mumbai airport

AN Air India aircraft from Kochi to Mumbai veered off the runway at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) amid heavy rain on Monday morning, disrupting air traffic for a while.
The plane skidded off the runway onto an unpaved area, but the pilot quickly brought it back to the paved surface.
It was grounded for inspection and maintenance checks. The primary runway—09/27—reportedly suffered minor damages. Secondary Runway 14/32 was activated to ensure uninterrupted flight operations.
