K'buragi's Radio Antarvani bags third prize at national contest

UNION Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan presented the third prize to Radio Antarvani, a community radio station (CRS), run by Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha at the 10th National Community Radio Awards distribution function in Mumbai a few days ago.
This prestigious national award, won for the first time by Antarvani, comprises a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a medal and a citation.
A press note issued by the sangha here on Saturday stated that Antarvani is the only CRS from Karnataka chosen for the award under the category of "Sustainability Model Award".
Antarvani bagged the award at a stiff competition in which 530 CRSs from various states participated.
