Collector directs officials to prevent inflow of mangoes from TN to protect local interests
CHITTOOR District Collector Sumit Kumar has established a special team of district officials, under the supervision of the Joint Collector, to ensure that Totapuri mango farmers fully reap the benefits of the increased Minimum Support Price (MSP). The State government has announced the MSP for Totapuri mangoes this season, and the next 15 days are critical for its effective implementation.
The erstwhile Chittoor district is a leading producer of Totapuri mangoes, with an anticipated production of 4.5 lakh metric tonnes from a cultivating area of 50,000 hectares in 2025.
