India Plans to Source 10% Cooking Gas from US

INDIA is reportedly planning to source about 10% of its cooking gas imports from the United States beginning in 2026, as part of a broader strategy to boost energy trade and help narrow its trade deficit with the US.

According to a report citing sources, pricing will be a key factor in determining the exact volume of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports from the US.

In February, India had pledged to increase its energy purchases from the US by $10 billion, aiming to raise the total to $25 billion in the near future.

Both countries have also agreed to target $500 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.
