DGCA asks airline to submit report on Del-Srinagar plane

THE Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday asked Indigo Airlines to submit a report on the hailstorm impacting the Delhi-Srinagar flight 6E 2142 on Wednesday evening.
All 227 passengers on board narrowly escaped after the flight encountered the hailstorm midway.
The director of DGCA, Faiz Ahmed, told this newspaper, "We have asked Indigo to submit a report on the incident. We will decide whether to order an inquiry after finding out what the airline has to say about it."
Former pilots and aviation safety experts, however, said the situation could have been handled better.
