POSSIBLE radicalisation of Indian students studying in Bangladesh may soon emerge as a major security concern for India, sources in the intelligence agencies said on Saturday.

- MUKESH RANJAN @ New Delhi

According to the sources, over 8,000 Indian medical students were studying in Bangladesh at the time when the country went through a political crisis in 2024 that led to the ouster of then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Inputs emerging from the neighbouring country suggest that there are a number of the students studying across Dhaka, Sylheti, Rajshahi and Chittagong medical colleges, and they have become the target of ideological grooming by radical elements, who received prominence in the country since PM Hasina was ousted from power, the sources said.

The Invisible Commander of the Household

What women demonstrate is a certain practical habit of mind. Before approving large-scale disruption, they tend to ask inconvenient questions: What will this cost? Who will suffer? And perhaps most practical of all: what happens after we win?
