Nitish Kumar is a natural ally of BJP and he will stay with NDA, says Bihar deputy CM Samrat Choudhary

'Will go to Ayodhya and remove my pagri'

THE National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is back in Bihar with the JD(U) joining hands with its old ally BJP once again barely three months before the Lok Sabha elections. Newly elected deputy chief minister and state BJP president Samrat Choudhary tells Ramashankar that there will be no dearth of funds for development works for Bihar because the Narendra Modi government at the Centre is committed to "development with justice".
He says the installation of the NDA government has raised hopes that the state will benefit from "double  engine" government.

Excerpts:

What will be the impact of the alliance with JD(U) to form a new NDA government in Bihar ahead of the Lok Sabha elections?

The new alliance with the JD(U) will have far-reaching impact on state politics, especially when Lok Sabha elections are at hand. It's a well calculated move, which will manifest in the coming days.

The JD(U) is a natural ally since its inception. The BJP entered into an electoral pact with Nitish Kumar since inception of Samta Party and fought elections in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2005 (except in 2014 Lok Sabha & 2015 assembly polls).
