WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN INVESTING IN 2026

THE year is ending on a high note.
The recent quarterly growth data shows a second successive quarter of over 8% economic growth. Benchmark indices such as the NSE Nifty and the BSE Sensex have reached new highs. The September 2025 quarter results showed a recovery in corporate profits after a long time. Overall, the year is ending on a high note.
The New Year is set to usher in more excitement. The pipeline of new public offerings (IPOs) remains strong. Most analysts expect the supply of shares through IPOs to be relentless in 2026. At the same time, there is no dearth of liquidity. Domestic equityor equity-linked mutual funds continue to receive strong net inflows. Foreign investors hold a far smaller stake in Indian equities. The under-ownership is due to euphoria in Artificial Intelligence and new technology-led stocks in America and other emerging markets. India is not considered a player in the sector. However, some of the biggest consumers of these technologies would be in India due to the large consumer class. It is a market that foreign investors may not ignore for long.
