Trade Deficit with UAE Widens Sharply

AFTER initial optimism, the India-UAE Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is now contributing to a widening trade deficit for India. In FY25, India's trade deficit with the UAE more than doubled to $27 billion, up from $12.4 billion in the previous fiscal year, driven largely by a surge in gold and silver imports.
