Suspension of 6 cops in 'custodial death' a solace, says VCK leader
The Morning Standard
|July 01, 2025
THE suspension of six police personnel allegedly involved in the custodial death of a young man at Thirupuvanam police station has provided some relief, but legal action must be taken against them, said VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Monday.
Addressing the media at Madurai airport, the VCK leader added that such deaths at police stations should not occur in Tamil Nadu. He lamented that officials are particularly interested in removing his party's flagpoles across the state to comply with the orders of the Madras High Court. However, other parties' flagpoles are not being removed, he said.
