Reservation Based on Religion Is Against Constitution: Hosabale

Amid the controversy over the Karnataka government's decision to introduce a 4% reservation for Muslims in government contracts and projects, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said on Sunday that the move is untenable as the Constitution does not allow religion-based quota.

"Reservation based on religion is not possible; it is possible only for backward classes within a religion," he said.
