‘Please forgive us’: Thieves return award of film director

It's a twist in the tale for film director MANIKANDAN who had lost two national award medals that he had won for his movie 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' during a house break-in in Madurai last week.

Five days after the burglary, the miscreants, late on Monday, dropped the medals at the director's house with a note saying, "Please forgive us. Whatever you got because of your hard work must remain with you".
About five sovereigns of gold jewellery and 1 lakh in cash, along with the medals, were stolen from Manikandan's house at Ezhil Nagar at Usilampatti in Madurai district last week.
