NATIONAL Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah on Wednesday took over as the first elected Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory after Article 370 was read down.
In a bid to maintain a balance between Kashmir and Jammu regions, Omar appointed giant killer Surinder Choudhary, who defeated J&K BJP president Ravindra Raina in Nowshera in the Jammu province, as the deputy CM.
