In another round of layoffs, American technology conglomerate Microsoft is expected to fire nearly 9,000 employees.

This is the second mass layoff by the company in months.

According to reports, this layoff will affect less than 4% of the company's global workforce. Microsoft employed 228,000 full-time workers as of last June, the last time it reported its annual headcount.
