MHA approves 1,000 additional CRPF jawans for VIP security wing

IN view of the government's plans to gradually transfer certain protectees from the National Security Guard (NSG) to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned addition of another battalion (around 1,000 personnel) to the CRPF's VIP security wing, officials said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in a similar move, the MHA has also sanctioned two additional battalions for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), over and above recently-approved one woman battalion for the force, officials said, adding that this would augment the force's capacity to take the total strength to two lakh.
