Majhi says South Odisha Development Council will be formed soon

CHIEF Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday announced that South Odisha Development Council (SODC) will be formed by the state government soon.
Releasing the third installment of ₹5,000 each to one crore beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana at a function in Jeypore on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, the CM said a task force headed by School and Mass Education minister Nityanand Gond had been set up to prepare the roadmap and the structure of the council. The task force will submit its report soon, he said.
Taking a dig at the previous BJD dispensation, Majhi said his government was committed to equitable development and progress of all regions in the state. The southern region will get optimum focus under SODC which will be formed in line with the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).
