Jolt to INDIA alliance as Farooq decides to go it alone in LS elections

IN what could be termed as a jolt for INDIA Alliance, National Conference president and three-time former J&K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Thursday hinted at the party going alone in the parliamentary polls by asserting that his party would contest the Lok Sabha elections on its own.

"As far as seat sharing for LS polls is concerned, I want to make it clear that NC will contest the polls on its own. There is no doubt about it," Abdullah told reporters in Srinagar today.
There are five Lok Sabha seats in J&K after the bifurcation of erstwhile J&K state into two Union Territories Jammu and Kashmir (with legislature) and Ladakh (without legislature) by centre on August 5, 2019.
