IAF chief: Army, Navy and Air Force must join hands in combat roles

UNDERLINING the significance of joint efforts of the armed forces, the Indian Air Force (IAF) chief on Tuesday said that he is keen on integration of the efforts of the Army, Navy and the IAF.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said, "IAF has the unique capability of undertaking independent strategic operations as well as operations coordinated with other services and arms of the national security apparatus. We understand the imperative nature of joint planning and execution in future wars and are keen on integrating the efforts of the three services." Pointing to doctrinal updations, the IAF chief pointed to the needs of joint planning and execution along with the other service.
