Harivansh cites Jakhar, rules out discussion on SIR, EC functioning

IN an apparent indication that the government is unwilling to meet the Opposition's demand for a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh on Tuesday cited former Lok Sabha Speaker Balram Jakhar's December 1988 ruling which opposed discussions on the decisions made by Election Commission (EC).
