Folk singer in BJP’s 2nd list of 12 candidates

THE BJP on Wednesday released its second list of 12 candidates for Bihar Assembly elections. So far, the party has announced 83 names.
Noted folk singer Maithili Thakur from Alinagar in Darbhanga, and former IPS officer Anand Mishra from the Buxar seat are the among the known faces in the list.
Maithili had joined the party on Tuesday replacing MLA Mishri Lal Yadav. He had won the 2020 Assembly election on the ticket of Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) but later switched over to BJP. He lost his membership after being convicted in a case but his membership was restored after being acquitted by the Patna High Court.
Anand Mishra, who has been fielded from Buxar, joined BJP after snapping his ties with Prashant Kishor's Jan
Suraaj Party. He was looking after Youth wing of the organisation.
