Don't punish students for protesting peacefully, union urges JNU V-C

ALMOST 10 students were fined or asked to vacate the hostel room in the past five months at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, claimed JNUSU leaders on Saturday during a press conference held on the campus.

It demanded that the Vice Chancellor must put an end to all inquiries against students being held by the Chief Proctor’s Office for holding protests etc and rescind all disciplinary action against them in this semester, and submitted a memorandum to the V-C regarding the same.
JNUSU also demanded the immediate conduct of JNUSU elections and restoring of the democratic functioning of the university.
