Commerce ministry seeks continuation of RoDTEP scheme

THE Ministry of Commerce seeks continuation of RODTEP, or Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products for export products in the upcoming Budget 2026, said a government source aware of the matter.
“RoDTEP continuity is what we are demanding. There has to be a certainty in the policy that exporters should know that the internal costs are being invested, particularly in these uncertain times,” said the official. RODTEP scheme currently covers over 10,000 product lines across sectors.
Operational since January 2021, the RODTEP scheme refunds exporters for embedded duties, taxes and levies not reimbursed elsewhere.
