FOLLOWING protests in Shimla over the "illegal" construction of a mosque, a clash erupted on Friday between Hindu groups and the police in Mandi over an alleged "illegal" mosque.

After Shimla, protests over 'illegal' mosque in Mandi as Sukhu warns of action

After an all-party meeting, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu issued a stern warning to lawbreakers, emphasising that the government respects all religions.

Raising slogans, Hindu groups marched through Mandi market before sitting on a dharna at Seri Manch. Later, when they tried to proceed towards the mosque, the police used water cannons to bring the situation under control.
