We are analysing a genocide, not stopping it

When a spokesperson says "we regret the loss of civilian life," which specific part of that sentence is supposed to be the apology?

When they announce, "our thoughts are with the families," where, precisely, are those thoughts located, and what actionable form do they take? When they "acknowledge the suffering" from a podium a thousand miles away, what frequency does that acknowledgment travel on, and is it receivable in the emergency ward?

I really want to know, because what I see is mass moral desensitisation, livestreamed. We are watching a genocide of innocence and calling it "complicated geopolitics."
