Cops' car recovered from Hennops River

AFTER days of intensive search-andrecovery efforts, the missing VW Polo vehicle, in which three police officers were travelling, has been retrieved from the Hennops River, near Centurion.

The bodies of the three officers, a police station clerk and another unidentified person were recovered from the river earlier this week. The bodies of officers 30-year-old Keamogetswe Buys, 20-year-old Boipelo Senoge, and 24-year-old Cebekhulu Linda were retrieved from the river after they were reported missing while they were travelling from the Free State to Limpopo.

After police divers initially found car parts in the river, they continued their search for the vehicle which was retrieved yesterday.

Athlenda Mathe, national police spokesperson, confirmed the vehicle's retrieval.

"I can confirm that the search team retrieved a car wreck from the Hennops River this afternoon. Items, including a handbag, were found inside the vehicle.
