UMHLALI BOWLS CLASSIC
WHEN the formula works, there’s no need to change it.
For 19 years, the Umhlali Bowls Classic has held its place as a jewel on the tournament calendar, consistently drawing bowlers from as far afield as the Johannesburg Bowling Association, Ekurhuleni, Sedibeng, Natal Inland Bowls, KZN Country Bowls, Kingfisher and PNB. While the impressive R83000 prize money certainly adds sparkle, it is not the real reason teams have been returning since 2006, when Dave Riley captured the inaugural title.
The secret lies in Umhlali Country Club's impeccable hospitality - an atmosphere where camaraderie thrives, friendships are rekindled and new bonds are forged, making the three day Classic far more than just a competition.
