Breakthrough in Fort Hare university murder

NATIONAL police commissioner General Fannie Masemola has commended the investigating team working tirelessly to apprehend those behind the killings at the University of Fort Hare (UFH) in the Eastern Cape.
Police confirmed that two men linked to the murder of Vice Chancellor and Principal Professor Sakhele Buhlungu’s bodyguard, Mboneli Vesele, were apprehended.
Vesele was shot and killed inside a vehicle while waiting for the vice chancellor outside his home in Alice, in the Eastern Cape on January 6, 2023.
The shooting was among several incidents that rocked UFH at the time, including the murder of a fleet manager, Petrus Roets, in 2022.
