Mimi Keene's cat and dog are pestering her on the sofa, annoyed she's paying attention to somebody else, but she seems to be in her happy place, saying: "I'm not very adventurous, I'm a home bird."
Yet the 26-year-old former Sex Education star is now on an upwards trajectory that will doubtless see her travelling the world. In the BBC's new Agatha Christie adaptation, Towards Zero, she is a revelation as Kay Elliott, a gold-digging femme fatale. Elegant in period costume, she shows true star quality.
Not that the down-to-earth actor seems affected by it — she has pets to care for. "I was lucky in that I got to take my dogs with me to Devon," she says of the shoot. "We shot it on Burgh Island, where Christie set the story, which really helped. It was full immersion."
