What threat do Croatia, Ghana and Panama pose in Group L? By Dom Smith
In a 32-team World Cup gone by, a group featuring Croatia, Ghana and Panama would have looked favourable for England, but Fifa’s decision to expand the tournament to 48 teams drags the average quality down and means Thomas Tuchel’s team have the right to feel somewhat unlucky to have landed a group that has the potential to be quite so thorny.
Of course, they are still overwhelming favourites to win Group L, but they must start well when they face Croatia in Dallas next Wednesday as their World Cup campaign finally gets under way. Make it out of the group and they will be five wins from world champions, but how much of an obstacle are the three teams standing between England and the knockout stages?

It's an Epsom payday for Ekin-Su while Lily Allen and Ellie Goulding enjoy a Perfect night out
In true English style, plenty of event-goers braved the wet this week — whether at the Epsom Derby, where racegoers entertained themselves placing bets (Charlotte Tilbury put down an unsuccessful £500 to win on one; Elizabeth Day triumphed with two successful bets, and Ekin-Su raked in £11.30 of winnings), or on the terrace of J Sheekey, where an ice-sculpture orb depicting the Vivienne Westwood logo melted onto guests, including Isan Elba.

At the table: By Zeus, the spirit of Athens is alive in Covent Garden
In a recent visit to Athens, we traipsed beneath generous orange trees and scraggy vines climbing crumbling walls; we attempted — and failed — to bypass several ice cream shops, those which bring such unruly flavours as to instantly beguile even the most full-up of characters.
