SUNDERLAND U18 lead coach Jordan Moore praised the “application and performance” of his side following Wednesday's “mad” 7-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Marcus Neill netted four goals, with further strikes from Felix Scott, Charlie Dinsdale and Alex Lienard securing back-to-back wins for the young Black Cats.

Post-match, Moore spoke about the feelgood factor within the squad and hailed the impact of the U16s involved. “It was another mad game, but an enjoyable one too,” Moore said.

“It's great to see the lads playing football with smiles on their faces and genuinely enjoying it.
