Nexus has described the improvements to the system, which was installed in the mid-1990s as 'essential to day-to-day operations, with the work planned around upcoming bank holidays.

The technology manages key Metro operations, including power supply, fire and intruder alarms, lighting, lifts, escalators, and tunnel drainage pumps. It will be renewed to an upgraded digital standard, with the current Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System said to have 'reached the end of its lifespan.'
