Striker's looking to 'repay fans' at Wembley
The Journal
|May 23, 2025
FLYING winger Romaine Mundle wants to play a part in tomorrow's huge Championship play-off final against Sheffield United to “repay the support of the fans”.
The Black Cats face Sheffield United at Wembley in a mouthwa-tering clash which is worth a minimum £220m to the winners.
Apart from the financial rewards, Mundle reckons it would mean “everything” to help the club get back to the Premier League.
It is likely Mundle will be used as a sub with Regis Le Bris unlikely to want to change the starting line-up which he employed against Coventry City over two legs of the semi-final.
Mundle returned from injury to play a part in extra-time against the Sky Blues in the second leg and helped buoy the Black Cats and lift their performance.
The 22-year-old is at least hoping he can realise a dream by playing in front of his family at Wembley.
“It'll be a special moment for me,” Mundle told BBC Radio Newcastle.

HEALTHY START
January is the right time for a reset. Nothing extreme, just food to help you feel good. Think fresh flavours, colourful plates and meals as nourishing as they are comforting. Soothing soups, vibrant salads and a spicy curry are on my menu plus, of course, the odd selection box chocolate which needs eating up!
