'Stop point-scoring over funding of high school'
The Journal
|May 19, 2025
NORTHUMBERLAND MP has called for an end to “political point scoring” following a row over the funding of Haydon Bridge High School.

Labour MP Joe Morris, who represents the Hexham constituency, spoke in parliament to criticise both the previous Conservative Government and the Tory-led administration at Northumberland County Council for failing to support the school.
He said 14 years of Conservative underfunding had “neglected” rural students and accused the council of ‘ignoring’ communities in the west of the county.
