'Shocking' pitch vandalism

A COMMUNITY football club has made a plea for support after its pitch suffered £2,000 worth of damage.

The damaged pitch

Newcastle Dynamo FC, based under the Angel of the North, in Ravensworth Park, Lamesley, is reeling after staff discovered the state of the pitch.

The club is in its infancy, having been founded around 18 months ago and taking pitch ownership from Gateshead Council in November last year. In the summer its goals were damaged, but the ongoing issue has escalated.
