September 01, 2025

DURHAM County Council has removed bunting from across a road due to safety concerns.

The bunting in New Brancepeth was removed by workmen.

The Reform-led council has issued a statement about the recent increase in the number of Union Jack and St George's Cross displays on lampposts. The council said that thought it understands and respects people's desire to display national pride, public safety should not be compromised.
