RED squirrels have been detected in 10% fewer areas of the North East this year than last, a survey has found.

Each spring, Red Squirrels Northern England (RSNE) carries out one of the UK’s largest squirrel surveys, and is considered the only scientific evidence base that measures whether the collective red squirrel conservation effort is making a difference in the north of England.
