Pub company liquidated with debts of £500,000

A NORTHUMBERLAND pub company behind venues in Alnwick and Amble has been liquidated with estimated debts of more than £500,000.

Curious Taverns Ltd, which traded as The Hairy Lemon in Alnwick and The Cock & Bull in Amble, has been voluntarily wound up but the venues continue to trade.

New documents filed by liquidators at FRP Advisory show a list of creditors owed £520,451, including more than £360,000 owed to HMRC and smaller five-figure sums owed to lenders and utilities companies.

Experts from FRP, Steven Ross and Allan Kelly, were appointed to the firm earlier this month and have submitted a report which shows an estimated total deficiency of £515,182 at the business, which was set up in 2019.
