CAPTAIN Dan Neil lived out a young boy's dream but even he never thought he would be leading the team back to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old was substituted before the equaliser and winning goal so was not on the pitch when Sunderland made their late come back from 1-0 down against Sheffield United.

The substitutions proved a masterstroke from Regis Le Bris as they made the difference.

Sunderland confirmed their place in the Premier League next season with Neil lifting the trophy at Wembley.
