Nissan welcomes new head of its UK operations

NISSAN has announced a new head of its UK operations as it gears up to produce new models from its Sunderland plant.

The automotive giant has appointed Vauxhall executive James Taylor, who has more than two decades of expertise in automotive sales and marketing. He succeeds Diana Torres as managing director and will takes up his role from Thursday.

The appointment comes at a time of significant change at Nissan, including global restructuring efforts and a warning from a senior executive at Sunderland that the UK business environment is not conducive to car production.
