New ride towers over the rest

HANG on to your hats, The Hoppings is here. It will be bringing all the fun of the fair and more - when it opens in Newcastle today for 10 colourful, noisy and non-stop days of action.

The annual tradition, a city favourite, always brings crowds flocking to the Town Moor and this year it promises to be a blast with enough thrilling rides in store to satisfy any adrenaline junkie. Among them is the newcomer Drop Tower, billed as the biggest mobile free-fall tower in the world and will have people plummeting to earth at a 4.5g drop.
