New jobs created after offshore firm expansion

OFFSHORE engineering firm Osbit is to create 33 new jobs after opening a new base at the Port of Blyth.

The Riding Mill firm which develops large-scale equipment used to construct offshore wind farms has created a new assembly and service facility at the Port's Wim-bourne Quay. The site provides access to multiple heavy lift quays, and has doubled the number of permanent positions at the facility.

The new facility was made possible by a grant from the Business Growth Fund which is funded by the North East Combined Authority through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). It allows Osbit to scale its operations and fulfil a record-breaking order book.
