Moors striker Madine calls time on career

SPENNYMOOR Town have confirmed summer signing Gary Madine has opted to bring an end to his playing career ahead of today's trip to Oxford City.
The well-travelled Gateshead-born former Sheffield Wednesday and Hartlepool United striker featured for the Moors in wins against Hereford and Radcliffe - but has now explained why he has decided to retire, after making his bow for Carlisle in 2008 at the age of 17.
He said: "I would like to thank the Spennymoor fans, my teammates and everyone involved at the club for making me feel so welcome.
