Missed chances costly for Bandits

BERWICK were left to rue missed opportunities as patched-up Glasgow clinched not only a Super Heat victory on Saturday night but also the aggregate point to consolidate second spot in the Cab Direct Championship table.
-
Chris Harris and Kyle Howarth stormed past Peter Kildemand and Drew Kemp to maximise Glasgow’s return after the scores ended allsquare on a night when no team led by more than two points.
Glasgow have lost only once in their last nine visits to Shielfield Park but with Villads Nagel, Dan Thompson and Leon Flint, along with Berwick's Sam Hagon, missing on international duty they looked vulnerable.
Kyle Howarth (15) and Chris Harris (13) dominated the visitors’ scoring but with guests Will Cairns and Declan Kennedy managing just two points apiece Berwick were left to rue falls by reserves Jack Smith and Dayle Wood while in scoring positions.
Decisively in such a tight affair Berwick’s reserves scored five points between them while their opposite numbers weighed in with 14, Max Perry producing his second match-winning contribution of the season at Shielfield Park with nine.
