Joint effort sees £25k of goods seized

MORE than £25,000 worth of illegal cigarettes, vapes and tobacco have been seized in one day across Sunderland.

A total of 2,204 cigarettes, 1,089 vapes and 669 pouches of hand-rolled tobacco were recovered when police and council teams targeted six properties in the city.

Also seized were 23 pouches of illegal shisha and 496 non-compliant food items.
