HUSBAND AND WIFE EMMA AND MATT WILLIS TELL LYNN RUSK WHY THEY WERE EXCITED TO RETURN AS HOSTS FOR LOVE IS BLIND'S SECOND SEASON
-
REALITY dating shows have been a staple of UK television since 1985, when Cilla Black first hosted the iconic Saturday night game show Blind Date.
Audiences have embraced shows like Dinner Date, Take Me Out, and Love Island, each with their own unique format but sharing the same goal: helping contestants find love.
Last summer, a fresh reality dating series joined the mix.
Love Is Blind: UK, based on the original American version, presents a bold social experiment in which single men and women agree to get engaged without ever seeing each other face to face.
Hosted by married couple Emma and Matt Willis, the show explores whether looks, race, or age truly matter - or if love really is blind.
As Love Is Blind: UK returns for its second series, the couple share their excitement about reprising their hosting roles.
"I was super excited to be asked back to do it because we love the show so much," says broadcaster Emma, 49.
"But because we've done series one and we kind of know what it is, now we're much more comfortable."
Matt, 42, who is the bassist of the pop-punk band Busted, agrees: "We were much more relaxed going into series two. It's like that difficult second album - the first season did so well and was so brilliant, you're like, can we do it again?"
The couple, who have been married since 2008, are no strangers to presenting together.
