Howe: We must not buy 'wrong' players

Howe insists that his £200m summer spending spree is not holding him back from signing players in the January window.But the Newcastle head coach says United don’t want to be pushed into signing the “wrong player” in the winter trading period.

The Magpies, boosted last night by defender Sven Botman signing a new, long-term deal at St James’ Park, are yet to make a signing this window despite a chronic injury crisis at the back, with some of Howe's squad forced to play 120 minutes against Bournemouth on Saturday.
