Go flat out for Constitution Hill at Southwell

ALL eyes will be on Constitution Hill for his highly-anticipated Flat debut at Southwell, where the once seemingly unbeatable hurdler can prove to the world his ability is still wholly intact.

Nicky Henderson's nine-year-old was an instant success when beginning his career under rules, breezing through a sequences of hurdle events and effortlessly taking the Supreme and the Champion Hurdle in successive seasons.

Time out with a variety of issues followed, and though he seemed none the worse for it when returning to win the Christmas Hurdle and the Unibet Hurdle last season, his white-knuckle leap at the last in the latter race was in hindsight a harbinger of the troubles to follow.

The Michael Buckley-owned gelding has very much been through the mill since, with three heavy falls only punctuated by a Punchestown no-show during which he looked a shadow of his former self.
